With the so-called “smocking”, the structure of the delicate fabric surface reminds one of Origami folding. It stems from an almost forgotten craftsmanship. The fabric is pleated first, then spanned over stencil and finally stitched up by hand – one hash after another. The light, which falls through the dents, comes across with a room-filling ambience and fans out in a mild manner.
