“Figurative Kunst aus Italien” (FIgurative art from Italy) is the title of a 2004 exhibition held in Frankfurt’s florentine quarter. Responsible for the lighting was serien.lighting; over 80 lamps from our catalogue provide light for the large paintings and sculptures. What seperated this exhibition from other, more conventional ones, was the fact that the luminaires, instead of completely fading into the background, respectfully interacted with the works while also not causing a competition between the two. In order to ensure that, Jean-Marc Da Costa, Manfred Wolf and Fabian Thiele selected the luminaires for each individual artist and their works. Multiple Zoom Suspension in various sizes and a couple Jones standing lamps provided more general and atmospheric lighting while Seventy Seven and SML T5, as well as One eighty and Pan Am illuminated works from artists such as Valerio Adami and Enrico Baj (Photos 1-3).
Works from the portugese artist Amanda Passos in Porto where also illuminated by serien.lighting luminaires.
